J. Press SS24 CAMPAIGN & PRINT CATALOG

PROJECT BRIEF:
Concept, creative direct, and oversee the execution of the J. Press Spring / Summer 2024 campaign; design and manage the print production of a 40pg DTC catalog and Wall Street Journal insert.

MY WORK:
My goal was to build on the FW23 campaign by pushing SS to be outside of the traditional “day in the life” visual framework. The budget limited production to our in-house studio leading me to create a set that was both inexpensive, yet visually compelling. I pulled from the idea of fine art studio sets and Impressionist and Pre-Impressionist paintings.

My roles on this project entailed aesthetic creative direction and on-set direction, scouting and hiring of models and location, styling looks, and hiring a 6-person production team.

My post production work included the design, layout, and print production management of the J. Press seasonal catalog and WSJ ad insert. The video bonus below was created by the campaign photographer who shot and produced the film.

The Art of Style

As fashion evolves, Ivy style’s presence ebbs and flows within it. J. Press holds firmly to the art of fine tailoring that originated so many years ago with my grandfather, Jacobi Press. We are committed to preserving our rich history of timeless elegance and understated sophistication. Ivy style is not one dimensional and this season the inspiration for our presentation comes from classical sources. Just as fine artists have used clothing as a vehicle to express character and identity in their subjects, we have used elements of fine art as a vehicle to express the personality of our clothing. The following photographs highlight the artistry of our Spring & Summer collection of warm weather perennials. ~ Richard Press (Grandson of founder Jacobi Press)
